Re: AFC WEST HAM
To be fair, if there was a team called AFC West Ham, playing in a football ground with terraces I'd probably consider going.

The owners of this club have finally shown their true colours, the TV money, coprarate cash and possible foreign investment is all it ever was really about. If we are now officially referred to as 'customers', then as business owners and providers to us (the customers) - have they performed their 'due diligence' in ensuring our happiness and safety? From the start - bags were not checked, police were not provided, security was a bunch of students and immigrants. Did they not think to ask questions?

On top of this, salesman were given free reign to lie to customers when making sales of hundreds of pounds that can't be refunded. Did Brady, Gold or Sullivan walk from the train stations to the ground before declaring the public transport links as so much better than Upton Park? Do they still get chauffeured or do they take advantage of the wonderful transport with the 30-40 minute walks through building sites?

We were on our knees when Gold & Sullivan arrived, they offered a hand to pick us up, plied us with booze and seductive dreams and we're all now waking up cold, sober, sore and homeless.

They'll be thousands who would follow an AFC West Ham in 2017/18, all the founders have to do is be honest and respect their supporters.

Re: AFC WEST HAM
Why AFC West Ham? Is that just bolting on the AFC that Wimbledon used?! I never understood why AFC Wimbledon couldn't just use the Wimbledon FC name as MK Dons didn't want it anymore.

How about West Ham Ironworks FC? Summit like that would be better and much more appropriate with our history. Ground share with Dagenham or Hornchurch or Grays or Thurrock or wherever to get started maybe? £100 a year season tickets, fucking lovely. Or we just could start supporting the ladies team maybe?!

Re: AFC WEST HAM
It's something I've thought about for years. That yesterday was bad. The place had no atmosphere, seats available all over the place making us look like a tin-pot northern outfit and it really has turned into the club vs supporters.

The reason breakaway clubs aside from Wimbledon were formed is because of the disconnect between club and fans. The big corporate machines drive football and that's where it all went wrong. Well for me, West Ham United is the supporters, so if there was a breakaway club just called West Ham, I'd be in. Better yet, play anywhere between East Ham/Canning Town and it'll feel like home again.

Nothing to do with being a super fan. More about seeing the club taken away from us by maniacal bosrds

Put me down for this as long as the burgers and dogs are cheap and there is a sweet stall near the ground.

Any ideas who would manage the side?

Re: AFC WEST HAM

Spot on, we're at risk of losing everything that made us special over there, all down to the Board and Brady's alienating and gentrifying West Ham's proper support...

Couple of years down the line once attendances have dropped off and enough people are fed up, this will take off I reckon.

Sydney_Iron 8:58 Mon Sep 26
Re: AFC WEST HAM
Or how about FC United? oh hang on thats been taken...

Ham West United? WH United?, and with a ground maybe we could share Brisbane road with Orient, they would be the bigger club, but sure there owners wouldnt mind?

Thames Ironworks.

Name sorted.

Re: AFC WEST HAM
Syd, have you read the arguments to breakaway? Without us West Ham doesn't mean anything and right now the club are actively trying to change the face of the West Ham supporter.

Time will tell of course, but this club from top to bottom is alienating the one thing that would be there rain or shine, us.

I'd rather be sharing brisbane Rd than playing where we are now
